Musical Test Kitchen Blog - Summer Sessions

Hi! In preparation for a 10-day artist retreat this August, I would like to thoroughly and systematically exercise my orchestration and  composition muscles. I have chosen Jorge Variego's book Composing with Constraints: 100 Practical Exercises in Music Composition to guide my daily practice. This book offers 100 compositional prompts that are designed to spark creativity by encouraging composers to embrace (and thereby transcend) constraints. I will be adapting Variego's prompts to suit my individual needs/desires. I recommend purchasing your own copy and joining in the fun!
